Pandemic trends that stay at home in 2021

The year 2020 provided an opportunity for people to reconnect with their home. Amid the pandemic, houses took on a new look: before, we spent little time in them. Now, our lives basically come down to our homes. Indoor environments have become the place where we are safe, we work, study, have fun... Some of the improvisations we made to increase comfort during this period of lockdown became a trend and are now continuing in 2021 (the year in which we continue to stay at home). Check out the “pandemic trends” that are here to stay:

Functionality

In addition to being beautiful, people began to prefer functional and comfortable environments. One of the ways to achieve this is by opting for integrated environments, which encourage greater circulation between rooms. The spaces bring a feeling of spaciousness, thanks to the absence of partitions. They also allow for greater communication. Comfort can come in the form of cozy furniture, sofas and cushions.

Space for home office and studies

Adapting a room in the house for work or studies has become a reality for many people. The pandemic ended up accelerating this trend and what was designed and organized for a more casual function now requires a larger space for extended use. Good lighting, a table or bench and a comfortable chair are essential items. Furthermore, it is important that the space is only used for home office, delimiting working and free time.

Contact with nature

Contact with natural elements, especially plants, provides an opportunity to relieve everyday tension and ensures a lighter, fresher decoration for the room. In addition to potted plants, vertical gardens, on the balcony and even in the living room, can be good investments. The use of wood in furniture, decorative objects and flooring is also interesting, as the material conveys a feeling of welcome. Another alternative is to opt for large windows and light curtains, encouraging the entry of natural light and air, making use of this even indoors.

Automated homes

With more time at home, technology can help make the home more practical, facilitating tasks that previously could only be done by the resident, such as turning lights on and off, choosing what to watch on television and opening and closing door and window locks. by voice command.
