Urban jungle: nature indoors

In the Portuguese translation, urban jungle means “urban jungle”. The decoration trend, as its name suggests, provides greater contact with nature in the city. The idea is to use plants and natural elements to decorate the spaces, creating a kind of “forest” inside the home.

There is no exact path to follow this style of decoration. The key point is to focus on creativity combined with many plants, of different types and sizes. One of the forms, perhaps the best known, are vertical gardens. Installed on one of the walls of the rooms (living room, bedroom, balcony), it combines different species of plants in one space.

In addition to the vertical garden, the urban jungle can complement the decor of the entire house. Combinations of potted plants of different sizes, small, medium and large, can appear in every room. The shelves, which can also feature wood as another natural element, help to optimize the space and alternate the height of the plants. As well as elevated tables and supports.

Another possibility is to mix plants with pictures, prints, vases, colors and other decorative elements.

This style of decoration not only has an aesthetic appeal, it also represents health and well-being benefits. In addition to contact with nature, plants purify the air in the environment and serve as an escape valve from everyday stress. It is worth remembering that when opting for urban jungle you create a commitment to taking care of plants, which need sunlight, ventilation and water.
